Gloria's New York Map

Created by artist Cornelia Carpenter, Gloria’s New York was commissioned privately in 2019 by a close friend as a gift for writer and organizer Gloria Steinem. It maps places across New York City that meant most to her, from a Central Park bench all the way to Broadway. That piece hangs in her kitchen, now a part of Gloria’s Foundation, to this day.

Following Gloria’s passing in 2026, Gloria’s Foundation shared Gloria’s New York with the world so that others might continue to discover the magic Gloria found across the city. Cornelia Carpenter has since updated the map, and the version you hold today includes such spots as the Minetta Lane Theatre, where Gloria had her last public appearance.

Proceeds from this print directly support Gloria’s Foundation, which Gloria established to ensure her home and archives remain a resource for feminist activism for future generations.
