Gloria’s New York was commissioned privately in 2019 by a close friend as a gift for writer and organizer Gloria Steinem. It documents places across New York City from Gloria's Central Park bench all the way to Broadway. To this day, the original map artwork hangs in Gloria's kitchen.
Following Gloria’s passing in 2026, Gloria’s Foundation shared Gloria’s New York with the world so that others might continue to discover the magic Gloria found across the city. Cornelia Carpenter has since updated the map, and includes such spots as the Minetta Lane Theatre, where Gloria had her last public appearance.
